Back in January, I found this utaite (because I am collecting utaite’s album). Imagine my shock when I hear his voice. SO IKEMENN!!!! MELTING!!! *refrain myself from screaming* Usually there is one or more songs that I don’t like when I listen to new album first-hearing basis, but no. I LIKE ALL OF THEM, especially Pathos and Queen of Hearts. I am grateful I stumble upon his album. I love it. and now, I LOVE HIM too. I am sooo following his works.

‘Trope’ is Ashikubi’s first official album with theme ‘monochrome world’, released on 19 October 2016. It consisted of 14 tracks and there are four new songs which will be released for the first time with Ashikubi as a singer. One of those four new songs is ‘Omokage to Kage (面影と影)‘, composed and written by koyori (yes, it is one and only). Imagine my surprise when I found koyori’s work again in this album. I literally screamed, “KOYORIIIIII-SAMAAAAAA!!!!” like YES YES YES!! koyori’s everywhere!! /(*w*)/

I don’t know about the meaning but I am sure I like it. koyori’s lyric and songs always have this particular vibe that I like although I can’t explain what kind of vibe is it haha…

Disclaimer: I am not the owner of this awesome song! NOOOOO!!! I am not even the singer!

Romanisation

Souzou tank (TANKU) wa mujinzou de, tsukuridashita mienai mamono
Sora ga yami ni somaru tabi, emi wo tarete me wo hikarazu
Nemurezu madoromu mae ni, samayoi mamirezu owaru
Curtain (KAATEN) kara nijimu hikari ga, urameshikute, nikurashikute
Aa, haimawaru, haimawaru, omokage to kage
Aa, furenaide, furenaide,
Ikidooru mama Hoteru te no mama
Kimi no ame ga furitsudzuku, karada ga nurete kawakanai
Tamarazu me wo ake gururi to mi mawashite miru ga
Soko ni wa shikarubeki denkyuu ga hitotsu
Aa, yurushite yo, yurushite yo, omokage to kage
Aa, kajou na made ni afureteiru
Tainai koufunzai Atsui tsumasaki
Mou… soto wa gouu, aa, bishonurede genkan
Nee… tokete inaku naru, kimi wa itsu mo sa
Narenai, samenai, maboroshi da!
Aa, nakanaide, nakanaide, kimi no omokage
Mou modoranai to rikaishita ame agari no yuu
Aa, karamiai, mazariau, omokage to kage
Aa, kako ni naru, kako ni naru
Ato ga kieteiku; hikarabiteiku,
Wasurerareteiku. Kyou mo doko ka de…

List of Mistakes in Romanising It:

It frustrated me how I couldn’t convert some of my romanisation to kanji. No matter how much I hear it, I come to the same conclusion. Thus I turn to Jisho hahaha.. and turns out I am right, for example this kanji [微睡む] should be ‘madoromu’ but my Microsoft Japanese keyboard cannot convert it to that kanji. But at last, I am relieved that it’s the right romanisation :’D I don’t want to sing it wrong!

  1. [頭] -> teban = atama (wowww, it’s not even resemble in the slightest! My God, help me with my hearing please T.T)
  2. [体内興奮剤] -> taenai kousonzai = tainai koufunzai

And you know what… the funny story is, I mistaked the first kanji [体] with this one: [休] and so when I looked up for what it should be romanised (since the result of my hearing cannot get the same kanji as my lead source), I got: ‘kyuunai’ which made no sense at all. I pondered and pondered a lot about it… escaping, coming back, and escaping… trying to rationalise it… until… this very second ‘BAM’, WHOA, “it’s the wrong kanji!” *insert me banging my head* If only I realised it sooner, I would have finished this lyric a lot earlier… like in January or something! *fume*

  1. [豪雨] -> doou = gouu (T.T but thank God I found it)
  2. [夕] -> bu = yuu (but until now it still feels like ‘buu (ぶう), really…)

Credits:

  1. J-lyric for the Japanese lyric, here. I’m so glad I found a lead to romanise it right away when I search for it. Thank youuuu!! There’s a note however, that J-lyric listed this song as Tohma’s creation (トーマ), not koyori. I’ve crosschecked it to Ashikubi’s website and crossfade of the album, and another website also, and it all said the same thing: This song is composed and written by koyori. So, done.
  2. Jisho because it is AWESOME as always!
